Grant Underwood, Founder
Grant Underwood is Founder of Charter Oak Recruitment Services. In this role, he helps schools and nonprofits build transformative teams to advance their missions. Grant has a deep background in recruitment, having worked nationally and regionally for school systems, nonprofit organizations, communities of faith, and Fortune 500s. Grant brings direct experience in Talent Acquisition, sourcing, outreach, executive search, market mapping, competency-based assessment, and strategic planning. Most recently, Grant served as the Manager for Human Resources Recruiting at Wayfair; prior to that he served as the Director of School Leader Recruitment at Achievement First. He has also held roles with Teach For America and The Episcopal Church. Before shifting into recruitment, Grant worked in Baltimore as an English Teacher and Washington, D.C. as an Instructional Coach. He holds an undergraduate degree from The Ohio State University, a M.A. in Teaching from Johns Hopkins University, and M.Div. from Yale University. He also holds a Professional in Human Resources (PHR) credential from the Human Resources Certification Institute (HRCI).
